Your role
Your tasks
- Build trust-based, long-term relationships with growers, cooperatives and partner leadership.
- Implement and progress the agreed 5-year development plans for each strategic grower partner in the assigned regions and translate plans into annual targets and milestones; track performance and flag risks.
- Build capability at origin: agronomy, post-harvest handling, documentation, traceability and quality.
- Identify capability gaps at origin and design structured intervention programs
- Develop standardized data templates and collection routines for use across the partner portfolio in the assigned regions; ensure data accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
- Collect, consolidate and validate partnership performance data from grower partners / cooperatives and prepare data-based reports for partner reviews as well as internal stakeholder discussions.
- Coordinate with Sourcing on commercial and with Quality on quality alignment and feed structured data into the Sourcing Quality Database.
What we expect
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Science, Tropical Agronomy, Sustainable Sourcing, Supply Chain Management or related field
- First relevant experience in grower development, sustainable sourcing or origin/tropical agriculture
- Field experience at origin, ideally in East Africa or comparable tropical origins is desirable
- Solid agronomy or food production knowledge
- Solid understanding of partnership and supplier performance metrics; basic data structures and reporting frameworks
- Naturally builds trust across cultures and over long horizons
- Hands-on and pragmatic at origin; data-minded and methodical in the office
- Detail-oriented; comfortable with structured information, KPIs and reporting
- Strong cultural intelligence and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Excel skills required; basic Power BI literacy a strong asset; familiarity with data templates and reporting tools expected
- Excellence in German and fluency in business English spoken and written, an additional regional language (e.g. Swahili, Kinyarwanda) is a plus
- International travel of approx. 20–25 %: minimum two trips per year each to the EU and grower regions.
